Central Florida Bambino Buddy Ball
Babe Ruth League, Inc. believes that every child has the right to participate in the games of baseball and softball. The Bambino Buddy Ball Division was established for organizations who wish to charter a league for players with special needs with ages ranging from 5 to 20 years. This division makes allowance for a “buddy” to help the player swing a bat, round the bases, catch a ball, etc. The Buddy Ball league is designed so that everyone has the opportunity to have fun and participate in American’s favorite pastime. The Central Florida Bambino Buddy Ball Division allows the athletes with special needs to develop confidence and positive self-esteem. It allows them to be part of organized sports, assists with physical fitness, teaches social skills and provides an outlet to meet new friends. The joy and emotion experienced when a child puts on that first baseball uniform or cap is the same for children at any skill level. Advancing the personal development of any child through team participation and kinship is an important step along the road to success and happiness.
CAN WE COUNT ON YOU?
The games are played weekly during the spring and fall seasons at the BrightHouse Sports Network Buddy Ball Stadium at Eastmonte Park in Altamonte Springs. There is no charge for the players or parents and all equipment is provided …but… we need volunteers to perform as buddies during the games. Volunteers are needed on a weekly basis and there are no age or skill requirements for the buddies. The buddies are instructed prior to each week’s games and all volunteer hours can be documented for volunteer service. Can we count on you to help these wonderful children?
